Paul and Loose Lead Club are the reason why I am now able to take my 18 month old Jack Russel mix on the most enjoyable, relaxed happy walks - both on-leash and off! Snoopy was dog reactive from the start -he lived simply to play/interact with other dogs which meant that I couldn't let him off lead ever because when another dog was in the picture (either nearby or even in the distance) his recall and manners were non existent, he would rush dogs (with all the consequences that comes from that) and I would spend my time running after him profusely apologising trying to catch him to remove him from the situation... when he was on-lead he would bark, howl and yelp at full volume if he wasn't allowed to 'meet' any dog that we passed etc. We were unable to take him to any indoor venue (restaurants, shops etc) in case there was another dog and so on and so forth. I tried to 'fix' the issues myself but was really getting nowhere and I realised I needed professional help. One day I saw a Loose Lead Club van drive past and decided to contact them - a decision that has without doubt been the best thing I have done for Snoopy and for myself. The programme requires you to engage with your dog in a manner that is guaranteed to be beneficial to your dog which, in turn, benefits the owner. Paul's calm, 'nothing is really a problem', positive demeanour quickly rubbed off on Snoopy and me - anytime I had a wobble or wasn't sure I was doing things the right way I would send him a WhatsApp and he would reply to get me back on track. The feedback from the other members of the group also helped provide comfort and encouragement knowing that others were going through similar issues etc. Today, Snoopys' walks are 90% off-lead - in all of Londons major parks - because of the freedom he knows he has on these walks he will more often than not, ignore other off lead dogs - he might go and say hello but as soon as I call his name he comes running. He is allowed to play with dogs now so it doesn't have the same attraction as before and he can chase squirrels to his hearts content! This more relaxed attitude to other dogs has taken over all aspects of his life - on lead we can pass other dogs without any nonsense and the howling/yelping has stopped all-together. Our walks are now an actual pleasure - both for Snoopy and for myself.

We approached the Loose Lead Club for help with Stella - our 7-year old Irish Terrier, who had become aggressive towards some other dogs. The fact that her aggression was selective meant it was particularly challenging as we were never sure when she would kick off. This behaviour meant we were increasingly anxious walking her off lead and it significantly reduced our enjoyment of her long, daily walks in Richmond Park. Paul quickly identified the problem and really helped us recognise and change certain behaviours which significantly reduced her aggression. The aggression really came from Stella's nervousness around other dogs and not knowing how to walk away from dogs she wasn't keen on. Attack was her form of defence. With Paul's help, we are better able to spot any trouble brewing and give Stella a quick exit route and reassurance that we were there to protect her. Stella is regularly walked by three different people and we have all noticed a really big improvement in her behaviour. I can't claim that it is perfect, but it is so much better than it was previously and makes walking her a joy again. An added benefit to the whole process is that Stella's recall has also massively improved and is, dare I say it, almost perfect now. That was certainly not the case before if her prey drive kicked in. This is incredibly reassuring and we get complimented a lot for it. The programme with the Loose Lead Club was easy to arrange and the one-to-one sessions in various locations to try out different environmental scenarios worked really well. They set clear weekly goals and exercises which are very helpful. Paul genuinely cared about Stella and making all of our lives easier. I would have no hesitation recommending the Loose Lead Club to others who are experiencing quite serious behavioural issues with dogs. It's not so much about basic dog training - but when you are looking for significant changes to existing poor behaviours, it's spot on and, for us, very much worth the money.

I can’t recommend Loose Lead Club enough. Paul and Jake quickly identified the issues my puppy was experiencing- he was reactive to both people and other dogs and was quite anxious. Once this was recognised we realised the root cause was actually my own anxiety - due to a previous bad experience with my older dog. Jake worked not only on correcting my dogs behaviour but also supporting me through my anxieties and helping us both feel confident in a very short period of time. We now are very content and very confident! Thank you Loose Lead Club.

I can’t recommend Loose Lead Club and Paul highly enough. I was running out of ideas and was recommended by a friend, and after seeing the difference in her dog I thiught I would give Loose Lead a try. He’s helped massively with my German Shepherd Rein's recall and overall listening skills. She’s gone from needing to be on a long line at all times to now being confidently off lead, which I honestly didn’t think we’d achieve so quickly. I was quite hesitant at first about using a prong collar and e-collar, but Paul took the time to explain everything clearly and really put me at ease. His approach is calm, knowledgeable, and tailored to your pup and yourself. One of our other big challenges was how overly excited she’d get around other dogs, especially not wanting to disengage or “say goodbye.” Paul helped us put clear, fair corrections in place for this, which made a huge difference to her focus and ability to settle. She’s now much calmer around other dogs and far easier to manage in social situations. Paul is always on hand to answer any questions, and I really appreciated that he also gave me “corrections” for myself when needed — it made a huge difference to our consistency. Overall, a fantastic trainer who genuinely cares about long-term results. I have already recommended him to another friend, who has signed himself up already !

Absolutely fantastic! I don’t even know where to begin. Paul has been a lifesaver with my 1.5‑year‑old Cockapoo. I rehomed her at 6 months old, and despite having had no prior training or direction, she was a dream dog—great recall, no pulling on the lead, everything I could have hoped for. However, after her first season she was spayed (on vet advice), and things changed dramatically. She became fixated on shadows, reflections, and moving lights to the point where she would lunge into roads and even go missing. It was incredibly distressing for both of us, and walks became a source of constant stress instead of joy. On the recommendation of a fellow dog owner who had worked with Paul, I reached out—and I’m so glad I did. After just 8 weeks of loose‑lead training, the transformation has been remarkable. She now walks calmly by my side, no longer lunges into roads, and isn’t fazed by passing vehicles—she looks to me instead! Her recall is excellent, and while we occasionally use an e‑collar, she doesn’t rely on it. Most importantly, all those worrying behaviours have disappeared. Even more amazing, we’ve now spent a month solo without Paul and we’re still going strong—getting better and better every day. It’s truly magical and heart‑warming to have such a beautiful bond with my pup. Thanks to Paul, my bond with my dog has grown stronger than ever. She thrives on the structure, routine, and boundaries he helped us establish. I finally have my freedom back, and she has hers too. Walks are enjoyable again, and our home life is calm and relaxed. Paul is a legend, and I am eternally grateful for his guidance. Thank you, Paul!
